Multifunctional Complex at Rampurhat will be a good destination to passengers who come to pilgrimage with enhanced passenger amenities. Rampurhat is one of the important vast developing sub divisional town in the district of Birbhum and is located at a distance of about 275 km from state capital, Kolkata and 170 km from the district head quarter of Barddhaman. The town is known for wholesale trading and the gateway of Tarapith, the major tourist destination of the state. The Grand Trunk (NH-2) road passes through this town and bifurcates distinctly towards Kolkata and Assam (Delhi-Assam Road). The eastern railway corridor (Kolkata-Assam main line) passes through the city and provides excellent connectivity in the region with the other parts of the state and country. The town is surrounded with the tourist circuit of Tarapith-Atla-Nalhati- Shantinekatan-Bakreswar-Masenjhar-Murshidabad. The proposed Multi-functional Complex is in close vicinity of the Railway Station - the connectivity of the site to the other parts of the town is reasonably good. |
