Rampurhat is one of the important vast developing sub divisional town in the district of Birbhum and is located at a distance of about 275 km from state capital, Kolkata and 170 km from the district head quarter of Barddhaman. The Grand Trunk (NH-2) road passes through this town and bifurcates distinctly towards Kolkata and Assam (Delhi-Assam Road). The town is surrounded with the tourist circuit of Tarapith-Atla-Nalhati- Shantinekatan-Bakreswar-Masenjhar-Murshidabad.
